Little Dungeon Mage is my 2nd main project of my University Curriculum. My aim was to create a small game project in unreal using mainly c++ to program. It is inspired by old zelda games mixed with an new attempt to create magic spells.
This project startet with me first thinking about four Ideas from which i created two prototypes. My prototypes contained one Merchant like strategy game and one Magic Top Down game which later evolved to Lil Dungeon mage. You can find the game here.
On the right you see my gameplay storyboard
back then I was conteplating using the mouse to select the magicsigns in a mousewheel setting. But the idea was discarded after seeing that the gameplayflow was a bit hindered by it, so i decided to fall back to the original idea to simply cast the signs via button clicks.

Level Sketches
Important here is I wanted passages where you see where you came from and also one or two spots where you see whats to come in the future. Due to the fact that this game is a Top Down game you could for example see whats one elevation higher and potentially already spot an enem. There is also a spot where you see a Reward even though you can not reach it yet but later when you get it you see the spot where you first saw it.
